I got direct tv tampa when I first moved in and I just can’t seem to drag myself away from the TV. I just love anything that comes on MTV which is pretty embarrassing since I’m a 40 year old woman but from The Real World to Made I just love all their original stuff. I’ve always had a soft spot for reality but you know, at the end of the day, these shows are just different somehow and I think it has to do with how raw they are. The characters on the show are really young which I think is part of the draw for me. Watching Real World San Diego makes me think of the days when I was only 19 and going on spring break with my friends. I think it’s a lot of fun reliving those days but you know, I can only be sure that I wouldn’t want to ACTUALY be 19 again because at that point I had no idea what I was going to do with my life!

It seems as though another football season has come along, and I still couldn’t care less. My new roommates assumed that I wanted to spend my Saturday night watching the UGA game on our DirecTV, but I didn’t. And that means I was left without my precious television along with access to my friends and our living room. I am old enough now that I feel no real need to pretend to be interested in things I am not. I know that my friends will like me whether or not I agree to participate in any activity with them, and that has made me even more confident in my decision to never watch football again. I spent last Saturday in my bedroom, listening to jazz music and making a wreath made from book pages. That’s pretty much the antithesis of football. After I tired of my wreath, I moved on to read Harry Potter, who never disappoints. Even now, I cannot tell you who won the Georgia game, nor who they were playing. I can tell you, however, that I thoroughly enjoyed a night on my own and I plan to follow the same routine for many Saturdays to come.

Texas was never really on my mind, that is, until my husband accepted a job here in Houston a few years ago. He’s in the petrochemical industry and it’s highly competitive and since Houston’s the top city in the country for it I always knew there was a possibility we’d have to move. Sure enough, he got this great offer and here we are, trying to adjust as a family from upstate New York to Houston! One of the best educational shows on TV these days is Planet Earth found on the Discovery Channel. Luckily, I never have a problem watching the show since I have Cable TV. Each episode I get to travel to a new, exotic location and discover what it is that makes the particular area unique. I get to see places on Planet Earth that I never even new existed. I get to travel to places almost impossible for the average person to visit in person, even if I had the money to try. My family not only gets to travel to remote locations, but also can witness unusual animal behavior in the wild.

My husband and kids love the show almost as much as I do. It is the one show on TV that the entire family agrees is worth watching, which is unusual. It is a top-notch show covering interesting destinations and the narrators are professional and good enough to hold every ones attention. The show has been the basis of more than one homework assignment that requires research about the world we live in. Planet Earth provides lots of information and details our family would have no knowledge of otherwise. The filming of the show is excellent quality, and totally captures my family's attention every time we watch it.

I don't have any kids yet, so I love to spoil my niece and get her little girly things. We're both really big girly girls and have really bonded over the years because of it. Her birthday is coming up in a few weeks and I thought I would do something really special for her and make a little coin purse.

She isn't quite old enough to carry a wallet, but I thought that a coin purse would be cute for her to carry around her allowance in and make her feel like a big girl. After I read through it a little bit I decided to sign up for one of the interne! t packages that I found on there.

For my niece's cute coin purse I decided to go with some red and black polka dot fabric, just like a lady bug. She loves lady bugs so I thought that would be perfect.

Everyone is up and about putting their Christmas ornaments and setting up their Christmas trees. My friend related that when she went to visit her neighbor yesterday, they were decorating their tree. They have a four-feet-tree that has some golden plastic cars and buses hanging all over. She asked where they bought them and she was told that they only painted the toys with gold as the family has two boys.

Wow! I think it is a good idea to have a themed Christmas tree. Yeah, I know that there are already thematic trees made of different colored trees, but I think it would be nice to have unique themes. Hmmm…maybe because I am wishing that I would become wealthier next year, why not decorate my tree with money? Maybe I should buy gold coins made of plastic and hang them on our tree? I think that would be a great idea. I have seen some plastic gold coins in the department store near our house so I might as well pay them a visit this week and get on to doing my tree. That will be our family project this week then our tree will look “rich.”

My friend likes buying books from book sales and garage sales. Most of what she buys are educational materials for her child. She has quite a collection of books on other cultures that are presented in a interesting way complete with fun pictures so that a child would be interested in reading them.

One of her books is that about Amazonian Indians and their way of life. They too have pretty much the concept of a family, have modes of teaching and transportation, and they are all well adorned. They have their own style of clothing and accessorizing. They have their own jewelry but only a few of them are made of gold. They also trade and buy gold coins.

I think it is a very good idea that my friend continues to build up a library for her child. Her toddler likes to browse books and can already identify some words.

Foods are not Good or Bad

We just need to eat them in moderation and choose other foods to give the balance and variety that are vital to good health.

Bathroom Accidents

Accidents in the bathroom can occur very often, especially among those who are advancing in age. Their balance is already depreciating and their walk is wobbly so a simple visit to the bathroom can already be life threatening.

I have a friend whose grandmother was in perfect health, even in her 70s. However, one day, she went to the bathroom and slipped. Her right hip hit the bathroom floor and because she was already old, the hip bone cracked. She was bed ridden in the hospital for months. Then she died.

She died not because of her injury but because of pneumonia, after being bed ridden for quite some time and her body could no longer tolerate the infection and the strong medication. Her body was no longer recuperating.

I just wonder if hip replacement was available then if her passing away would be delayed? And if ever there were problems with her hip replacement they can just call a Depuy recall attorney to assist in the replacement of the defective body part.

His reason, with our economy right now and him not being working he can't keep up the house anymore, he was just saying that the maintenance of the house it'll be expensive especially was built in 1970. Today hubby was talking to one of the Monex representatives asking if he is still can get hold of his old account with them. After talking about the silver for months he finally have the courage to go back trading regardless of our economy right now. Monex representatives assured him he won’t regret his decision on coming back because silver is doing well right now. To be honest I am really hesitant about this, it just because I don’t think this is the right time yet, but I trust his instinct of going back. MI Unemployment Rate Worsens

This is really bad. You know, I'm just about to get out Michigan and go somewhere where there's a job for me.

LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Gov. Jennifer Granholm warns that Michigan's already high unemployment rate climbed even higher in May.

State officials are to release the latest figures on Wednesday. But Granholm told reporters in the morning to expect more bad news.

She says, "It's not good."

The governor says state officials expect the rate to climb in May from April's 12.9 percent rate because of extended layoffs in the automotive sector.

Michigan has the nation's highest unemployment rate. The 12.9 percent rate was the state's highest mark since late 1983.

MONROE, Mich. (WXYZ) - Investigators updated the search for missing 5-year-old Nevaeh Buchanan Friday morning.

Monroe County Sheriff Tilman Crutchfield said a body recovered Thursday along the River Raisin has a strong possibility of being the little girl.

"We have reasonable suspicion that this is the body of Nevaeh," Sheriff Tilman said.

He said the size, sex and age is a match.

A shirt was recovered in the area that appears to be a match to what the girl was wearing when she vanished.

The sheriff said a task force has received 1,000 leads into the disappearance.

Crutchfield said around 3 p.m. Thursday, an investigative team was called to the scene where a body was found.

A little humor to you all so won't get tired reading of my blahs!

On little Larry's first day of first grade, he raised his hand as soon as the teacher came into the room and said, "I don't belong here, I should be in third grade!"

The teacher looked at little Larry's records and told him to please take his seat.

Not five minutes passed when little Larry stood up again and said, "I don't belong here, I should be in the third grade!"

Larry did this a few more times before the principal came along and the teacher explained Larry's problem. The principal and the first grade teacher told little Larry that if he could answer some questions that they could decide in which grade he belonged. Well, they soon discovered that Larry knew all the state capitals and country capitals that the principal could think of.

The teacher suggested they try some biology questions ... "What does a cow have 4 of but a woman has only 2?" asked the teacher.

"Legs!" Larry immediately replied. "What does a man have in his pants that a woman doesn't?" asked the teacher.

"Pockets!" said Larry.

The teacher looked at the principal, who said, "Maybe he should be in third grade, I missed those last two questions!"

Last semester I took macroeconomics and didn't have a clue what I was doing (as cited on the final exam). There were 80 multiple choice questions. For some reason I decided to play the game of probability and choose the letter "A" for everything. In that game, the only thing probable was that I failed.

The following day, the professor asked to see me after class. "Is everything okay?" "Sure," I said, "why? "Well, here's your test," he said and handed me a piece of paper that was covered with red ink. "Can you explain why you chose an 'A' for everything?"

Knowing that there was nothing I could do at this point, I said, "Well, I've always wanted to be an 'A' student."

My take this Pink Friday is my customize wordpress theme. You guys already know that I am pink crazy. hehehe. I've tried to use different color but for some reason I end up with pink. However, Charlota.org I've successfully use different color my second favorite color which is green. My first choice was a combination of pink and green but I decided to get rid the pink and stick with the green. The upshot wasn’t that bad and I surely like it. Just the thought of it Leptovox might be good to beautify the whole theme but funny, Leptovox is not a color it’s for me a fat burners that will help my uncontrolled eating habit.

Apricot trees

Springs rolling around in a couple of months and I can't wait! Once it starts to get warm again I'm going to fix up the garden and back my old routine of loving gardening. Over the summer I really didn’t get to do much gardening because I was busty with work. This coming spring I'm going to plant some new flowers. And I might even plant some Apricot trees so my family and I can have some fresh apricots over the spring and summer!

How’s everyone doing? Hope everyone doing well and had a great start of 2009. Mine, so far so good but not really. Some personal stuff I need to take pay attention so it won’t get worse.

On the other hand, I’m really happy of hubby’s daughter. During Christmas Eve, Tom's kids came over. Tom's daughter, Liane, showed up first with her boyfriend. She told us that she's engaged to her boyfriend, Kyle. I was SO happy; I almost started to cry, well, I did cry because I am happy for her. I saw her engagement rings and it was so beautiful! I wonder where Kyle got her ring from...

Automotive industry Woes

After 10 years of working in automotive industry it comes to the end. Some of you may already know I ended or my job has ended last Friday. I’m a contract of one of the big 3, sad to say it is not just laid-off the entire engineering graphics department have been pace out. I guess blame on economic crisis. I’m sure you guys know what’s going on with automotive industry down to hell. The federal aid of automakers I don’t think will do enough to protect auto workers. They have been laid off autoworkers left and right. As a matter of fact, all the big 3 will shutdown numerous plants starts holiday break. This is just not for 1 week; it is for one month or later. Gosh- workers, dealers have been bracing for the big 3 shutdown.

Pretty bad for auto industry, not in medical field for sure. I don’t know what I’m going to do, I’m thinking going back to school finish my degree or get myself interested in medical field.

A friend of mine who is a nurse is getting a MS nursing at Saint Xavier University's School of Nursing. After she told me about the school I had to find out more about it. Saint Xavier University's School of Nursing has been recognized as a Center of Excellence in Nursing Education and for past 70 years there are almost 4000 graduates. Indeed one of the best schools in MS nursing program.

3rd week roundup - December

Monday => I stayed home and worried after hubby told me what happened to him. Called the doctor appointment sadly they were busy. Continue worries...

Tuesday => I'm home again trying to convinced hubby to go to the hospital; luckily one of the receptionist called us that they have spot for HB.

Wednesday => I had to work but I kept calling him if he is okay.

Thursday => went to the hospital for 3 tests MRI, EEG and Carotid. We spent all morning at the hospital; I think we got home almost 1pm. I was so tired because I haven't been sleeping good worry about him. I went straight to bed around 2pm and didn't get up until the next day 5am.

Friday => I got up and got ready for work. I warm up my car then got a cup of coffee. Oh yeah- we had a snow storm and hubby kept telling me not to go to work. But I insist, but I had to turn around weather just so bad. So, I called Nadean to let her know, she told me to call our boss so I did. To make the long story short, I had to drag myself to work just to end my job. No a good day especially I got stuck in our driveway.

Saturday => Got up late and all sore. Saw hubby getting ready to go to store, I try to stop him but he won't listened. So, I went back to sleep and I forgot we had a Christmas party to go to.

Sunday => Oh gosh- I don't feel good knowing tomorrow I'm not going to work. I just sit in front my pc all day and catch up all my assignments.

It's Friday again and it's Pink Friday! Although kind of sad for me because I am officially jobless! Today was my last day; actually I had to end my job today since the company I work with cannot give me a day of pay. I won't say much, I'm still thanking my boss for being honest with me otherwise I'll get screwed with my unemployment for next week. For sure I'll miss my job. Sigh***

Monday => Got up late and feel like not going to work but got no choice had to drag myself out the bed.

Tuesday =>Boring day, I finish all my work.

Wednesday => I panicked early in the morning because DD fainted and I don't what's going on with her. I stayed home and took her to the doctor. After doctor's we stopped by at coney island for breakfast.

Thursday => I feel better knowing DD is all better. Still need to take her for EKG.

Friday => Tired from being so bored!

Saturday => as you know from previous post it's my laziest day.

Sunday => Happy that Julie got her early present but got devastated after hubby told what happened to him.

Today is the laziest day for me. I’m here sitting in front of my pc working on couple layouts. So, what I meant laziest, it is for my never ending household chores. Gosh- how I wish I can afford to have someone come over and clean the entire house.
While typing this hmmm I can smell hubby’s cooking. I want to get up and see what he’s cooking but I’m afraid he will let me help him. What a lazy wife huh? He is a good cook no doubt about it. The lawyer, without a word, writes the butcher a check for $8.50. The butcher, having a feeling of satisfaction, leaves.

Monday => not a good day, spent all day talking to tech support couldn't help me.
Tuesday => my ID still suspended
Wednesday => finally got all the passwords back and able to log in to dashboard
Thursday => was grateful because one of the boss gave me a tech support that we can understand each other wink*
Friday => yipeee! After work went to a friend house had dinner.
Saturday => wanted to put up xmas decors but couldn't drag myself to do it.

What a mess!

I came in to work early today to work on the project need to be done. But my surprise my ID were suspended. I think they forgot that there's still couple people left.

At 1st I thought I forgot my password so I called support, trust me each time I call a support (remember support from 1 of the big 3) is no fun at all. I don't want to mention where the support cause I might get in trouble but let me tell you, I can't believe they become an IT can't hardly....... I'm sure you know what I'm saying.

Anyway- they told me my ID were suspended so I called eng graphics supervisor to let her know that my ID were suspended but she can't do anything about it because her boss is not IN yet. So, I waited and waited and waited.

The support called me back and telling me to log in to my email duh! Remember my ID is suspended? Geezzzz

Today is a day when you can have it all. If you were planning on a relaxing day at home with your family, you can do it. If you wanted to do something with a friend, this is possible too. Or you can make definite progress on unfinished chores. Although you might have to prioritize your day, fortunately you won't need to choose one thing instead of another.

Relaxing = check ... perfect day for us. hubby cooked some turkey, was very delicious.
Spend time with friends = X ... wanted to go to a friend house but didn't make it, we had a snow storm.

Have you guys started Christmas shopping yet? Me, I don’t know when I’m going to start since money is so tight right now. Next month it’ll be my last day at my job and I think saving is more important than spending right now. I’m sure people will understand. Julie wanted a playstation 3; just couple of days I told her she might not get it this year but I didn’t stop looking for a bargain. Monday => was so tired over the weekend and came home from work all worn out.
Tuesday => was busy at work trying to finish some project.
Wednesday => Sad day at work, 2 people left. One is my boss who is going to different department, happy for him. The other one got laid-off. And lunch time big boss (my boss now) took as to a nice restaurant for lunch. I was surprise of myself didn't get any drinks (alcohol). After work, I stopped by in the store for last minute Thanksgiving dinner shopping. I cannot believe how expensive nowadays.
Thursday => got up early to do some major cleaning. And I helped HB for the dinner.
Friday => lazy as I can be, relax to the max!
Saturday => had the kids over. I got up early again to clean up the kitchen, because I didn't finish it last Thursday or I rather say Friday at 3am. I only washed all the china dishes.

I have been doing laundry since yesterday and its 7:24pm I'm just about done. 2 more loads and I'm done! I can't believe I let it go for long time. I'm lucky enough I/we didn't run out some clothes. hehehe. Hubby clothes (work clothes) on the other hand I don't have to worry about it because I take them to the cleaners to have it laundry. I've been doing this since 1999 and I guess with our economy right now need to stop to save some money. I hate ironing, part of the reason why I take his work clothes to the cleaners; I don't have to stay until 2 or 3 am just to iron his work clothes.
